SECURITY ON FACEBOOK
Social networkers are being targeted by hackers wanting to steal their personal data.
The popular website Facebook has been hit by five security attacks in the past week & experts warn
things could get worse.
Hackers have been creating fake messages, which,if opened, can install a malignant program on to the
unsuspecting user’s computer.This can then leave them vulnerable to identity theft.
So far the attacks have been more of a nuisance than a real threat and have been relatively easy to spot.
But security advisor Rik Ferguson said the site’s popularity makes it a tempting target and added:
“It’s been a pretty bad week for social networking in general.”
A spokesman for Facebook said members should always be vigilant and never give out their password.
He assured users that the site did a lot of unseen security work.
